A luxury-minded 311-room hotel opened in 2005 as part of the now-defunct international Concorde chain, this 17-floor hotel is located on the Charlottenburg/Wilmersdorf border, just south of the major shopping street Kurfürstendamm and a mere ten-minute walk west of the gateway to all things gay in neighbouring Schöneberg. This is a sleek and rather cool, previously 5-star (now-4-star) option — designed by art deco-inspired Berlin architect Jan Kleihues — complete with a gym and spa. In February 2014 Sofitel took over the hotel, previously called Hotel Concorde Berlin. U-Bahns: Kurfürstendamm and Augsburger Straße.
