Functional, unstylish but perfectly reasonable rooms belie the lovely art nouveau exterior of this 64-room hotel which in 1989 insinuated itself into an 1886 building of once-handsome residential apartments that somehow survived the war. An original and restored grand staircase and hallways perk up the otherwise perfunctory decor experience, but prices are relatively cheap and gay Schöneberg is just minutes away, as is shopping mecca KaDeWe. There's also a courtyard out back. U-Bahn: Wittenbergplatz.
